The Supreme Court annuls the decision of the Special Appeal for the imprisonment of the directors of Veliaj

The Supreme Court has overturned the decision of the Special Appeal to uphold the prison sentence for the directors of Erion Veliajt, Mariglen Qato and Redi Molla, who were put in handcuffs in May 2024.

The panel composed of Ilir Panda, Albana Boksi and Medi Bici decided to send the case for reconsideration to this court, but with another panel.

But on the other hand, this court has upheld the decision for the other director of Erion Veliaj, Taulant Tusha, who was arrested for the Tirana incinerator affair as well as the 5D affair.

We remind you that the Special Prosecutor's Office added another charge against the directors of Erion Veliaj, that of money laundering, after calling them a structured criminal group.

For Taulant Tusha, an extension of the investigative actions by 3 months was requested, a request which was accepted by GJKKO./ CNA
