Albania leads the regional list in terms of life expectancy

At a time when many countries are facing major health and economic challenges, Albania is showing a significant improvement in the quality of life of its citizens.

According to the latest data from the United Nations (2023), Albania has an average life expectancy of 79.6 years, a figure that exceeds some other countries in Europe.

In the presented map, countries that have a lower life expectancy than Albania are highlighted in red, including many countries of Eastern and Central Europe such as Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria and others.

This makes Albania one of the countries with the highest life expectancy in the Balkan region and in some Eastern European countries, showing a significant improvement in the quality of life of the population.

Countries with lower life expectancy than Albania include:

- Russia

- Ukraine

- Serbia

- North Macedonia

- Bulgaria

- Belarus

- Latvia, Lithuania and many others

This fact makes Albania one of the main countries in the region in terms of life expectancy, surpassing not only most of the Balkan countries, but also many other former socialist countries of Eastern Europe. The increase in life expectancy can be attributed to improvements in health infrastructure, better access to health care, and investments in educating the population about health and well-being.

In contrast, many of the countries that are in red on the map face major economic and health challenges, which negatively affect the life expectancy of the population. Economic recessions, poor health services, and lack of investment in the public sector are the main factors that have reduced life expectancy in these countries./ Monitor.al
