The Democratic Party is preparing a lawsuit to request the property investigation against the socialist MP, Fatmir Xhafaj , former Minister of the Interior, who today leads the special commission against independent institutions.

Sources for CNA inform that the lawsuit will be submitted to SPAK and refers to the fact that the lawmaker's brother was convicted for drugs in Italy and must undergo procedural verification according to the law.

Also, the media has often reported on Xhafaj's connections with construction businessmen in Tirana and the deputy's connections with the mayor Erion Veliaj for clientelistic interests.
