The member of the Presidency of the DP, Grigels Muçoll...
The National Authority for Cyber ??Security with the support of the US Department of State and CRDF organized this Thursday morning in the city of Korça, a training on "Cyber ??Hygiene and Best Security Practices".
Cyber ??attacks have become a very big concern and problem not only for citizens but also for public and private administration. In the last two years, Albania has been hit by these attacks several times in a row, where many data and information have been leaked from the institutions and used by the countries that carried out the attack.
Erisela Çikopana, representative of AKSK, shows that official statistics show that 70% of cyber attacks occur due to human errors. For this reason, the initiative was thought and organized to train the employees of the administrations, so that they become aware and get the basic knowledge to avoid the leakage of information. ?ikopana says that the interest in this training has been high, while we must be aware that due to the momentum that technology is gaining these days, the risk is greater in terms of cyber attacks.
"This is the fifth national training on cyber hygiene. There has been a lot of interest as cyber hygiene provides the basic knowledge that each of us needs about how we should behave online, how we should protect our personal data but also the organizations we work in. We are aware that we live in a time where technological developments are moving at a rapid pace and we must be aware of the cyber attacks that threaten us. About 70% of cyber incidents occur from human errors, with a simple careless click we can fall prey to attacks. Cyber ??attacks come in many forms and if we get the basic knowledge, we will know how to protect our privacy."
?ikopana states that cyber attacks are of various kinds, endangering not only personal data but also secret information that our country has faced in recent years. The simplest way of a cyber attack that may not be understood by the administration is that of phishing, where through a click on an e-mail, all the data of the institution can be obtained. Among other things, she emphasizes the fact that trainings of this type are important enough to make every employee aware that he has some responsibility for his job position and must know how to protect it.
"Cyber-attacks are diverse, from the simplest ones that threaten our personal data to the state-sponsored ones that our country faced two years ago. The critical infrastructures of our institutions are threatened by cyber-attacks. of this training, we emphasize that the attacks that can threaten our administration employees can come to you unexpectedly in the form of e-mails, that is, phishing attacks. Therefore, we are teaching them how to use passwords strong, how to secure their data as best as possible during the work process, because a data leak from a careless click can pose a risk to all the data of the organization and create access to them for the awareness of all of us to be aware of the responsibility that each of us has."
In all the meetings so far in Korça and some other cities of Albania, about 2400 employees of the public and private sector have been part of the training./ CNA
