From 23 to 27 September 2024, the OSCE Presence in Albania organized a customized training for police officers and investigators to increase their knowledge and expertise in performing financial analysis and financial profiling in proactive financial investigations.

The participants were officials of the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes and the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime in the State Police and investigators of the National Bureau of Investigation.

The training – made possible in collaboration with the United States Department of Justice's International Criminal Investigation Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) – offered a mix of theoretical knowledge, practical examples and fictitious financial investigation case scenarios.

The event was organized as part of the OSCE Presence project "Supporting Albanian law enforcement agencies to effectively tackle serious and organized crime and to improve regional cooperation V". The project aims to support and assist Albanian law enforcement agencies in the fight against national and international organized crime and serious crimes, effectively, in accordance with international best practices, as well as improve cooperation with international partners and regional./ CNA
