Transfer during the year from gymnasium to professional education/ Instructions

The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, and the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, signed today the joint instruction, which allows the transfer of students throughout the first year of high school to vocational education. This change is another opportunity for young people to turn their eyes to professional education, in a market that is increasingly dynamic, that needs professionals from different fields.

"Today we sign a joint instruction, which enables the transfer and registration of students throughout the year in vocational education. This instruction is another instrument in the professional education reform package in the guarantee that we create, first of all, that students go where they have inclinations. Secondly, we create ease and great support for families, who will find it easier to know where to direct their children", said the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu.

Vocational education is considered a golden opportunity for young Albanians, offering new perspectives, quick employment and opportunities to further develop their academic career.

"For the academic year 2024-2025, a record number of 10th grade enrollment has been reached with about 4,400 students, plus 10% compared to the same period a year ago. Registrations are open until September 30, so this event would help us once again make the call that whoever wants to register, registers", said the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja. 

The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, also focused on the importance of career counseling coordinator teachers, who will play a key role in orienting students towards vocational education from the sixth grade. This support will be further strengthened with the new possibility of transferring students from high school to vocational education throughout the first year.

"We have also taken a very important step for the 2030 school, which is the appointment of two new figures in the school, that of the Coordinating Teacher for Career Orientation and the Coordinating Teacher for Quality Assurance in the School. We will have 320 coordinator teachers for career orientation within the school in the 9-year cycle and secondary ones, who will take care of this very important element, which is about identifying and orienting the talents of students in schools ours. And today we have a special figure with special financial support who will organize this aspect related to career orientation", Manastirliu said.

Heads of schools, career counseling teachers and students who have transferred to vocational education participating in this meeting organized by the Ministry of Education and Sports, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation emphasized the importance of orientation towards vocational education, as an opportunity for young people for quick employment and in accordance with the needs of the labor market./ CNA
