The Supreme Court upholds the sentences for Emiljano Shullazi and his group

The Supreme Court has decided to uphold the Appeals Court's decision in the case against Emiljano Shullazi and his associates, confirming sentences totaling 55 years in prison.

The decision was made in a deliberation room by a panel composed of judges Ilir Panda, Genti Shala and Enton Dhimitri.

The group was found guilty of extortion and creation of a structured criminal group. According to the verdict, Emiljano Shullazi will serve 14 years in prison, while Endrit Qyqja and Endrit Zela were sentenced to 10 years in prison each. Blerim Shullazi was sentenced to 9 years in prison.

For Gilmando Dani, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal after he passed away.

Emiljano Shullazi continues to be held in prison for other cases investigated by SPAK, including the "Nothing is Forgotten" file on the 2005 murders and the "Revanshi" operation, where he is accused of providing conditions for murder and participating in a criminal group./ CNA
