GJKKO leaves Meta in prison

The Special Court has upheld the "Arrest in Prison" measure for the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta.

The news was confirmed by Meta's lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani.

In a statement to the media, Cakrani said that the defense of the PL leader had requested verification and replacement of the measure.

" The "Arrest with imprisonment" is left in force. Today we presented our claims, which we had well-founded. We requested verification and replacement of the measure. We discussed for about 45 minutes, explaining why he should not remain in detention. Meta himself spoke for about an hour. After there was a debate with the prosecutor, in the end the court decided to leave the measure in force. There was no debate in the negative sense of the word, we had nothing to do with the prosecutor ," said the lawyer.
