Generation Next worthily represents Albania at the European Science Festival

The Vodafone Foundation's Generation Next project has been important in the development of digital skills among pupils and students. Thanks to this project, students and teacher Valentina Ismaili have been empowered towards innovative solutions and designing a better future through technology.

The Vodafone Foundation in Albania is proud to support initiatives that promote innovation and digital skills, contributing to the development of future leaders in STEM.

Thanks to this initiative, the 9-year-old school "Sule Harri" in Elbasan, winner of the first phase of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), the program of the new digital generation in Albania of the Vodafone Foundation in Albania and the Ministry of Education and Sports , has been one of the three schools that have worthily represented Albania at the 13th European Festival "Science on Stage Europe", which was held on August 12-15, 2024, in Finland.

This festival brought together 450 primary and 9 year old school teachers from all over Europe to present projects and new ideas at stands, seminars and sessions dedicated to technology.

The three schools, "Zhani Ciko" Patos gymnasium, Fier with teacher Erviola Konomi, "Qemal Stafa" gymnasium, Tirana, with teacher Klotilda Jaupi as representative and 9-year school "Sule Harri", Elbasan, with teacher Valentina Ismaili, that represented Albania in Finland, were selected in the National Science Festival that was organized in November last year on the World Science Day by the Innovative Center Edu Act Albania, which coordinates the projects of Science on Stage Europe, with innovative teachers in STEM.

The "Sule Harri" school of Elbasan was presented at this festival with the project "The castle's guest house and solar system", which intertwines the tradition and values ??of the city with technology, an innovative solution of how the old castle of Elbasan can offer for tourists a unique and comprehensive experience thanks to technology.

The selection of the "Sulë Harri" school in Elbasan to be one of the representatives of Albania "Science on Stage Europe" is the result of the successes that the students of this school, mentored by their teacher Valentina Ismaili, have achieved during their training continuous through STEM curricula./ CNA
