The meeting for the new head of the Special Prosecution Office is being held this Thursday at the KLP, where the minutes for each candidate have also begun.

In his speech, Prosecutor Adnan Xholi focused on his studies and career to date, on which he also shared some more detailed details.

Xholi described it as a privilege to run for this position, while adding that an important objective for the future of the institution is to continue with faster property investigations, which will lead to faster confiscation of assets.

"As a prosecutor at SPAK, I feel it is a privilege and pleasure to apply for this vacant position, due to the fulfillment of several criteria. I believe that I have the managerial skills needed for this task. I completed my studies at the Faculty of Law. In 2004, I was in the first group of prosecutors who investigated wealth and assets. I held the position of director of the Criminal Investigations Directorate. In 2021, I was appointed prosecutor of SPAK. I am the author of several scientific publications, as well as a lecturer of several courses at universities in the country, on criminal law subjects. The history of SPAK is related to the fight against corruption and organized crime. As well as the protection of the independence of the institution. Each candidate, due to the results they have achieved, is worthy of running. I am proud to work with them and will support them regardless of today's vote. In addition to the successes, the time has come to continue with faster property investigations for the confiscation of criminal assets to eradicate the culture of impunity. Thanks to the justice reform, SPAK is a decentralized body. The prosecutor is independent, the director is a manager and has the duty to orient the work, the available capacities, but also focuses on achieving the most successful results and this guarantee must be built to guarantee the interest and best practices", - said Xholi. /CNA
