Journalist Klodiana Lala spoke about the race to elect the new Director General of the State Police. In a television interview, Lala said that the list of candidates after the interviewing and scoring process has been submitted to the Minister of Interior, Besfort Lamallari.

She said that some of the candidates have had a very good performance. Among other things, the journalist also spoke about the challenges that the new director of the State Police is expected to face after taking office.

"The procedure for interviewing and scoring for the 14 candidates in the race for head of the State Police has been finalized. As we said, there are 14 candidates in the race. There were two women but they were disqualified because they did not meet the formal criteria. The candidates responded to the interview of the commission consisting of the Deputy Minister of Interior, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior and the head of the AMP. This commission met yesterday and submitted the list to the Minister of Interior, Besfort Lamallari.

Some of the candidates have performed very well. The new name will be proposed by the Minister of Interior and then sent to the Council of Ministers. Whoever is elected will have a very big challenge ahead.

The State Police is currently at its lowest levels, there is a lack of public trust in the police, there is criminalization. The first challenge of the director to be elected will be to determine the names that will lead the police in the regions. I do not believe that the new director will leave the names that Ilir Proda left at the head of the police in the regions.
