Some of the main websites of the country's institutions have been hacked. For this situation, there was also a reaction from ANA, where it emphasizes that the situation is under massive attacks, but underlines that the government websites are again in full operation.

According to ANA, such attacks have nothing to do with the security of systems and data in them, but only with the blocking of public websites.

"We inform the public that we are currently under massive, distributed attacks of the 'Distributed Denial-of-Service' (DDoS) format, blocking the network with illegitimate attempts to access public sites. The situation is back to normal after about 60 minutes and the government sites are again in full operation. We emphasize that such attacks have nothing to do with the security of systems and data in them, but only with the blocking of public websites. For a long time, Albania has been under the maximum attention of attackers and cybercriminals. Cyber ??and information security is one of the biggest challenges in the digital age. Timely identification of threats, quick response, and strengthening of security is a complex process that requires proper attention and taking measures adapted to the time and manner of attacks, case by case," the announcement states.

How does the truth stand?

However, CNA has carried out a verification and it turns out that not all the institutions' websites are online. After the attacks, the online pages of ILDKPI, KLSH and the Assembly of Albania are not functional for citizens. Even these pages do not open at all on the Internet and citizens cannot perform any services.

Meanwhile, the website of the General Directorate of Taxes opens, but it seems that it has been attacked, as it is not functional.

From the verification carried out by CNA, the tax system does not work. Businesses cannot declare online sales.

It is not known exactly if the attacks have ended, or if the whole situation is a failure of the AKSHI institution to take the situation under control./CNA
