The Albanian national team of "Special Olympics Albania" will participate this year with 10 athletes with disabilities in the World Special Olympics Berlin 2023, which will take place from June 17-25. In their journey to this qualitative step, the team has had many supporters. One of them is the Vodafone Albania Foundation, which for years has supported the Special Olympics national team in international events and continues to support our athletes with mobile phones and a free roaming package throughout their stay at the Berlin Olympics.

The Vodafone Albania Foundation has always had the focus of the Social Contract with citizens, communities and partners as well as support for persons with disabilities to make its contribution since the use of communication technology No one is left behind. Unlimited communication will enable our special athletes not only to maintain communication with their families in Albania, which is extremely important to them, but also to be able to post day by day their progress in the games Olympic. And we hope to see some medals in one of these posts.

As Jonida Lakuriqi, Chairman of the Board of the Vodafone Albania Foundation, says: "The oath of the athletes of the Special Olympic Games summarizes the entire philosophy of their lives and efforts. Let me win! And if I don't win, let me be brave in trying to achieve it. These young people with disabilities, but with a lot of desire and will to push their limits every day, have managed to be victorious in the great race of life, facing with dignity, together with their families, with the challenges that fate has faced. They have come all the way to the Special Olympics event and this journey of courage and determination is an inspiration to us all.”

The Albanian team "Special Olympics Albania" will be represented at the World Special Olympics Berlin 2023 in 4 disciplines: basketball, swimming, athletics and weightlifting. It consists of 10 athletes, 7 coaches and athletes come from 3 different cities.

With this ambitious project and delegation of 20 people, a window will be opened to the entire community of people with intellectual disabilities and their supporters showing courage, talent and determination to break barriers through sport. And also convey once again the important message that Together we can compete, and why not, even win medals!/ CNA
