Election crimes/ Ballot papers and a pistol found in a locality

The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Peqin Police Station, after receiving a notification on 22.05.2025 that some suspected election materials had been found in a bar in the village of Pekisht, immediately went to the given address, in order to verify the case. 

During the actions carried out at the scene, in cooperation with the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office, in the premises of citizen DB, 10 ballot papers similar to ballot papers, incomplete, suspected of being falsified, as well as a list of voters were found and seized. Citizen DB's wallet, with 280,000 lek, was also seized.  

Further, during the search of citizen DB's apartment, an old trophy rifle and a (sporting) stun gun were found.

Following the actions in the case, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Peqin Police Commissariat referred the procedural materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen DB, for the criminal offenses "Falsification of electoral material and election results" and "Unlicensed production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons"./ CNA
