Names/ Candidates for members of the High Judicial Council are announced

The candidacies for members of the High Judicial Council have been officially announced.

After verifying the fulfillment of the legal conditions of the candidates who have expressed interest in being elected members of the High Judicial Council, according to the provisions of Article 7, points 2 and 4, of Law 115/2016 "On the governing bodies of the justice system ", the Supreme Court officially announces the candidacies for the election of 2 (two) judges from among the judges of the first instance court and 1 (one) judge from among the judges of the appeal courts, as follows:

- Emona Muçi - Court of Appeal of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana

- Irida Kacerja - Court of Appeal of the General Jurisdiction Tirana

- Alma Kodraliu - Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Tirana

- Gentiana Muçaj - Administrative Court of First Instance Tirana

- Markelian Koça - Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës

Based on the legal provisions, the High Judicial Council is a collegial body composed of 11 (eleven) members, who serve full-time. Of these, 6 (six) members of the Council are judges from all levels of judicial power, of whom; 1 member from the Supreme Court, 2 members from the Court of Appeal; and 3 members from the Courts of First Instance.

Following, based on Article 13 of Law no. 115/2016 "On the governing bodies of the justice system", the Vice President of the Supreme Court will call the General Meeting of judges of all levels to elect the members of the Supreme Judicial Council.
