The Court of First Instance in Vlora has decided to suspend all court proceedings this Tuesday, following the serious incident that occurred the day before in Tirana.

According to the official announcement, the only exception to the suspension is security measures, which will be implemented according to legal deadlines.

Sources from the court indicate that the suspension of court proceedings will continue until October 10, while normal activity is expected to resume after this date.

This is the latest information coming from the Vlora Court of First Instance, following the decision to temporarily suspend court hearings.

The Korça Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction has also reacted to the event, expressing deep pain and solidarity with the family, colleagues and the entire judicial body for the tragic loss of the judge of the Tirana Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, Astrit Kalaja.

The court's response states that this serious event has shocked the entire justice system and serves as a painful reminder of the urgent need to guarantee the safety, dignity and protection of every judge in the exercise of his or her duties.

"Judges are at the service of the rule of law and citizens, making difficult decisions every day that require integrity, courage and dedication. These values ??require respect and support from institutions and society, not violation or endangerment," the statement said.

The Court also emphasizes that the state has a moral and legal obligation to create safe conditions for the exercise of the judge's duties, so that he or she can act independently and be protected from any form of pressure or threat.
