Suspected of abuse of office/ AMP arrests four police officers in Shkodra

The Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has arrested four officers of the Operational Troop of the National Security Unit in Shkodra, suspected of the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".

According to the AMP, the arrest was carried out after receiving information that citizen Hasan Verracaku, who had been placed under house arrest, was not at the apartment where he was supposed to be kept under surveillance by police forces.

Following investigative and procedural actions, four police officers who were tasked with monitoring the implementation of the security measure were arrested, specifically: Inspector Dorjan Hasandoçaj, Inspector Gentian Xhanari, Inspector Dioniz Hotaj and employee Ridvan Zefi.

Meanwhile, citizen Hasan Verracaku is suspected of violating the terms of the security measure imposed by the court and is therefore being investigated for the criminal offense of "Removing a prisoner from his place of residence."

The Police Supervision Agency (Shkodra - Lezhë Regional Directorate) has arrested four police officers in flagrante delicto suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Abuse of office", provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code.

Immediately after receiving information that citizen Hasan Verracaku, against whom the personal security measure "House Arrest" had been imposed, was not found in the apartment where he was supposed to be kept under surveillance and in custody, AMP specialists carried out the relevant investigative and procedural actions, which resulted in the arrest in flagrante delicto of the following police officers:

- Inspector Dorjan Hasandoçaj;
- Inspector Gentian Xhanari;
- Inspector Dioniz Hotaj;
- Employees Ridvan Zefi,

on duty at the Operational Corps of the National Security Unit Shkodra

Meanwhile, citizen Hasan Verracaku is suspected of having committed the elements of the criminal offense "Removing a prisoner from his place of residence", provided for by Article 323 of the Criminal Code, by violating the conditions of the security measure imposed by court decision.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra for further action.
