The money collected from the education tax went to the incinerator in Sharre, an affair for which Tirana Municipality officials are behind bars.
Jonatan Pano made this denunciation at the protest in front of the Municipality of Tirana. According to him, there are 55 million euros collected from the education tax that went to the incinerators.
He said that due to the theft of education money, schools are not ready for the start of the new academic year.
"Less than three weeks separate us from the beginning of the new academic year, for all pre-university level students. My question is, are the schools ready to receive students, I say no.
The temporary education infrastructure tax that should have ended in 2019 is going to incinerators and theft of public money as it is not going to schools alone. We asked for information on where 55 million euros from this tax went.
All the money they receive they send to other countries and do not go to invest in the capital, we have said that we will not give up and we will not back down in the face of thieves", stressed Pano./ CNA
