The member of the Presidency of the Freedom Party, Ismeralda Seidolli, in a statement to the media, has denounced that in some villages of Korça there are very serious problems with drinking water.

According to the member of the Presidency, the residents of Belorat, Drësnik, Shamolli and most of the villages of the Vithkuq administrative unit suffer from a lack of drinking water due to the negligence and irresponsibility of local institutions.

She further stated that the drinking water supply infrastructure in many of these villages is not in proper conditions and the maintenance of the water supply system does not exist as a service.

He also points out that apart from the water supply with limited hours, what causes the residents the most is the muddy and waste water that comes to their taps without any hygienic conditions.

The PL has called on the Municipality of Korça to treat this problem seriously and intervene to solve it immediately by taking the necessary measures for a 24-hour supply of drinking water.

" I am in this statement to the media to share some of the drinking water problems in some of the villages in the Korca area.

As you know, water is a vital element for our health and everyday life. But, unfortunately, even in 2023, the inhabitants of some villages in the Korça area continue to face a great challenge in the supply of drinking water.

Residents of Belorat, Drësnik, Shamolli and most of the villages of the Vithkuq administrative unit suffer from a lack of drinking water due to the negligence and irresponsibility of local institutions.

The drinking water supply infrastructure in many of these villages is not in proper condition and the maintenance of the water supply system does not exist as a service.

The lack of water has forced a part of the residents to turn to the nearest sources to fill water and another part is forced to buy it although this cost weighs on their pockets.

In addition to the water supply with limited hours, what causes the residents the most is the muddy and waste water that comes to their faucets without any hygienic conditions.

Therefore, I call on the Municipality of Korça to treat this problem seriously and intervene to solve it immediately by taking the necessary measures for a 24-hour supply of drinking water.

I call on the relevant authorities to take the necessary measures for the construction and reconstruction of the drinking water supply system, filtering and monitoring the quality of water, so that the long ordeal of suffering from the lack of drinking water for the inhabitants of these villages come to an end", she said./ CNA
