Doctor and pedagogue, Sonela Xinxo, has passed away prematurely.

The news has been confirmed by the Institute of Public Health. Xinxo died at the age of 49 after losing his battle with a serious illness.

For years, Sonela Xinxo devoted herself to medicine. She worked at PIH for the period 2003-2017, in the field of prevention and control of Non-Communicable Diseases.

The doctor is the author of a number of studies, reports and modules in the field of health and health care service management.

Sonela worked at ISHP for the period 2003-2017, in the field of prevention and control of Non-Communicable Diseases, contributing to the drafting of the Heart Disease registry as well as many health policy documents.
