ASA sues the Council of Ministers/ Requests the annulment of the decision

The Academy of Albanian Studies has sued the Administrative Court of First Instance, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Ministry of Education and Sports.

The essence of this request-lawsuit is the request to annul the decision of the Council of Ministers "On the closure of the activity of the Academy of Albanian Studies and the reorganization of its main institutes" and to take the measure of securing the claim by suspending the implementation of the act until at the end of the process.

On June 12, 2023, the Academic Senate of the Academy of Albanian Studies decided to follow the legal process against the unprecedented act of closing the activity of one of the most important institutions of Albanian studies, higher education and Albanian culture.

According to ASA, this decision was taken in violation of the legal and sub-legal procedures provided by the Council of Ministers itself and, on the other hand, in the total absence of prior consultation with the institution./ CNA
