"Scandal at the meeting of the media commission"/ Fuga

Academician Artan Fuga says that SP Petro Koçi MP has violated the rules of the Assembly, as during the meeting of the Committee for Media and Education, he requested that Fuga not be a participant in the hearing for the discussion on the draft law for the Academy of Sciences. During the meeting, Koçi said that there is no reason to invite individuals from abroad.

He responded to Socialist MP Petro Koçi by asking him questions where he highlights his criticism of the draft law and his fear of free speech.

"Today, a scandal happened at the meeting of the media and education committee. Deputy Petro Koci, violating the regulation of the Assembly, which has legal force, on my civil rights, insisted that I, Artan Fuga, academic, not be a participant in the hearing and not be heard in my speech in the committee, when he to present his draft law for changes in the law of the Academy of Sciences that changes the election of its president. Is there so much concern about the free speech of an academician, deputy Petro Koci? How easily can you violate the civil rights of an individual who is interested in science, education, culture in the country? That draft law is so weak that it wants to extinguish any criticism, taking away my civil rights without trial, unheard of in the history of the Albanian state since the time of its establishment.
