Beler's conviction/ Rama talks about new elections in Himara

Prime Minister Edi Rama has spoken about new elections in Himara after the conviction of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri.

Today from Shkodra, Rama said that he is waiting for the decision of the President of the Republic of Albania on the date of the elections and then all the procedures according to the law and standards will be followed.  

"You know very well the reason why we have not had elections. It was simply and only an approach of Albania's will. We will wait for the decision. The process will follow the procedure according to the law and standards of the Republic of Albania. The President determines the elections", said the Prime Minister.

In relation to Beler's sentence and the reactions of the opposition, Rama said that it would be best if justice was left alone, as the SP has done.

"It would be right for justice to be left alone as we have left it alone", said Rama./ CNA
