CNA reported the control of the apartments/ SPAK gives details of the action for

CNA reported yesterday evening that GJKKO has issued search warrants for the apartment of Arben Ahmetaj and for the apartments of 6 other people included in the file of the former deputy prime minister.

SPAK reacted to these checks a little while ago. The Special Prosecutor's Office gave details of the action and showed what was found in the apartments.

Specifically, documents of interest to the investigation were seized, as well as laptops, mobile phones, USB sticks, etc., which will be subjected to further verifications.

The Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime and the National Bureau of Investigation in cooperation with the General Directorate of the State Police, in the framework of the investigation of criminal proceedings no. 277/1 of 2022, registered for the criminal offenses of "Abuse of office", "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", "Active corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", "Refusal to declaration, non-declaration, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants or of any other person who has the legal obligation to declare" and "Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity", provided respectively by the articles 248, 260, 245, 257/a and 287 of K.

Pursuant to the decisions of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana with act no. 295 dated 16.07.2023 and act no. 297 dated 17.07.2023 it has exercised control in 7 (seven) apartments. During the inspection, documents of interest to the investigation were found and seized, as well as laptops, mobile phones, USB sticks, etc., which will be subjected to further verifications.

In compliance with decision no. 296 act dated 17.07.2023 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime has proceeded with the implementation of the measure of property insurance, preventive seizure of 6 (six) assets of which 4 (four) apartments (one adapted as AIR BNB) owned by the person under investigation Arben Ahmetaj as well as 2 (two) bank accounts of the same citizen in the amount of 124,300 (one hundred and twenty four thousand and three hundred Euros)./ CNA.al
