Saranda's naval base remains under sequestration/ the Supreme Court rejects

Today, the Supreme Court overturned the recourse of the "Marina Bay Saranda" company and left in effect the sequestration imposed by GJKKO for the Saranda naval base.

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Crime and Corruption (SPAK) has placed the naval base in Saranda into preventive seizure, after the former/vice-commander of the naval forces Artur Meçollari raised claims that the privatization of the base had affected the operationality of the naval forces.

The denunciation by Meçollari was made for two properties, one in Shengjin and one in Saranda, which, according to him, were given to private individuals without permission.

We remind you that on July 1, 2020, the Ministry of Finance signed with the company "Marina Bay Saranda" a lease contract with the value of 1 euro for the provision of 265 thousand meters of public land in the Limion Bay, in Saranda.

In this area, it is planned to build a yacht harbor and a tourist resort with villas, hotels and apartments./ CNA.al
