Balluku inspects the measures for setting up wastewater treatment plants/ No
Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku

The Task Force for the implementation of the normative act for the training of polluted waters by entities that operate near bathing waters continues with controls throughout the country, with a special focus on the coastal tourist area where the largest number of service units is concentrated.

In order to increase the transparency of this entire process, the inspectors were also equipped with body cameras, while more than 400 subjects were checked in just one week.

The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, together with the director of AKUK, Klevis Jahaj and the mayor of Vlora, Ermal Dredha, were in the area of ??Radhima, where the entities have already started with the installation of plants for the treatment of polluted water.

Director Jahaj announced that the objects of the controls are not only the subjects near the washing water which are in operation and operate in the service sector, but also the facilities that are being built must have part of the project and the solution for the treatment of polluted water .

"Part of the normative act is not only the service units that are in the process of work and service, but all the objects that are in the process of construction or will continue to be equipped with other construction permits in the future, without question they want to be part of the solution and of their infrastructure and individual wastewater treatment solutions", said Jahaj.

Radhima and Dhërmiu are the two areas where the process has advanced at a very good rate, and now a large part of the entities have installed wastewater treatment plants. There are 5 Task Force teams on the ground to monitor the situation.

"Based on the normative act, we have long since started working to establish a rule that concerns the entire tourism industry, not only the hotel industry, but also restaurants and wherever there are customers with an increased number. Through the 5 groups that we have in the field with our Task Force, we are conducting continuous checks to implement the requirements of this normative act. Normative act number 8 provides that practically all businesses are equipped with the purifier of dirty water and then pour it into the washing water", said Balluku.

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy pointed out once again that there will be no tolerance for anyone who abuses, as this initiative aims at increasing the quality of service to all vacationers, further promoting the development of tourism.

"The sea must be preserved, it is the greatest asset. It is definitely a request of the Albanian government, but based on a series of facts. Washing waters are important for us, as they are the main product that we have on which we have based tourism, it is definitely the mountains, it is agrotourism, it is definitely the extraordinary cuisine, the Albanian cuisine, but the sea is the biggest asset that we have". Balluku underlined.

For his part, the mayor Dredha said that in the area of ??Vlora this normative act has found the understanding of the subjects, as a step for further increasing the quality of tourism./ CNA
