Electoral asphalt/Sue in SPAK Municipality of Tirana

The Democratic Party's candidate for deputy in the Tirana Region, Lisandër Hoxha, and the chairman of the FRPD, Besart Xhaferri, filed a criminal complaint with SPAK against the Municipality of Tirana, accusing it of using public funds for electoral purposes.

"Such actions should not be tolerated, state-owned enterprises cannot be encouraged to violate the Electoral Code, as the law states, 4 months before the elections, the use of public funds for electoral purposes is not allowed. Let them go and do what they are doing."

Violators of the Electoral Code belong in prison, and of course the outgoing government should not pressure officials, should not exert influence on public officials to violate the Electoral Code, because it will have no effect.

I have noticed several streets in Unit No. 4 that do not have any work signs. If a citizen goes and paints his balcony, he goes to jail because he does not declare the work, while the municipality, commanded by Edi Rama, but represented by the person arrested for corruption, Mr. Veliaj, has the right to open and close work sites for electoral purposes.

This is not right! There is no longer an opposition that is silent, but there is an opposition that confronts, there is an opposition that apparently scares them.

A criminal report will come by mail, as is the procedure, and I hope that SPAK, since it has also created the election task force, will take action in a timely manner and not after the elections.

"Citizens come and report to us about election crimes, they see that this government has come to an end," said Hoxha.

Besart Xhaferri further stated that it will not only be a report about the electoral asphalt, but also the police chiefs and leaders who do not investigate the complaints made by the opposition will be reported.

"Today we have filed a report with the Municipality of Tirana regarding the electoral asphalt, but it is not just the electoral asphalt. Next time we will also file a report with the police chiefs and leaders when they do not make the determination when we call them," he said./ CNA
