Positive results with salmonella/ AKU Vlora seizes 500 kg of meat

On March 26, the Vlora AKU carried out inspections in several entities in which it turned out that chicken meat with salmonella had been used, according to indications received from the central AKU.

From the control carried out, 6 entities tested positive for salmonella, including 2 fast food, 3 markets and 1 restaurant, and 500 kg of meat were seized.

Fast food restaurants located near schools, restaurants serving meat such as fillets, and supermarkets have tested positive, according to the Vlora AKU. Samples have also been taken for analysis from other entities, for which responses are awaited.

According to the AKU, the inspection was carried out in the entities referred by Tirana, having information on where the supply was distributed.

Asked about the situation in the sausage factories, AKU says that there is no information that these have been supplied with meat from the company identified with salmonella./ CNA
