OPDAT returns to SPAK/ US Embassy: Considered essential to US interests

The US Embassy in Tirana has reacted to the return of OPDAT representatives to SPAK. In a response to Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu, the embassy states that several programs essential to US interests have resumed.

The embassy's response also states that the review of foreign aid is still underway by the Trump administration.

" In accordance with President Trump's January 20 Executive Order to Reassess and Reorganize United States Foreign Assistance, Secretary Rubio initiated a review of all U.S. foreign assistance to ensure that programs are effective and consistent with U.S. foreign policy under the "America First" agenda. Several programs deemed essential to U.S. national interests have resumed, while the foreign assistance review is still ongoing ," the response said./ CNA
