Albania under the 'power' of fires/ The most problematic points during the last 24 hours

The Municipal Police's action on the main pedestrian street near the Municipality of Shkodra continued this week, with the aim of freeing up public spaces occupied without permission by private entities. Numerous municipal police units, supported by employees of the municipality's public enterprise, intervened at several points along the promenade to remove tables, stands or other materials placed in violation of urban regulations.
This action is part of a campaign launched a few days ago, which aims to restore the public function of pedestrian areas and guarantee equal access for citizens. Local authorities have announced that all entities operating in the area have been notified in advance, asking them to voluntarily remove any illegal elements from public spaces.
However, not all businesses have cooperated. In some cases, businesses have not vacated public spaces on time, claiming that they are being penalized despite having requested permission. Local officials stressed that tolerance for violations has ended and that daily checks will continue until urban order is restored.
Citizens are divided on this action. Some support it, emphasizing that the pedestrian zone should serve passersby and not turn into a road with obstacles, while others see the measures as harsh, seeking an intermediate solution that preserves the social and economic function of the area.
For its part, the Municipality of Shkodra has announced that after the completion of this action, a new phase of reorganization of public spaces throughout the city will begin, with the aim of standardizing their use and creating better conditions for urban living.
The action to vacate public spaces will continue without interruption by the municipal police on the main axes and will then be moved to the most peripheral parts of the city to completely vacate public spaces unjustly occupied by various entities and individuals./ CNA
