Argita Malltezi, the daughter of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, was asked in a television interview whether she helped Lulzim Basha to become part of the Democratic Party. Malltezi said that he only gave Basha a meeting with Berisha, but that he did not know what they were going to talk about. 

She underlined that she has never suggested people to Berisha to take to the party. In the current situation, the daughter of the former prime minister said that she is disappointed by Lulzim Basha, referring to his actions. 

 

"I have never brought it into politics. This is a lie. He was certainly part of the immediate social circle. He had an offer when he came in 2005 from another party. The only thing he asked me was that he wanted to meet Sali Berisha. I didn't know exactly what they were going to talk about and I didn't want to know. I didn't want him to ask me for a link of his. I have never done such a thing. I never did it for a single reason, I never wanted to cost Sali Berisha with people that I suggest. Has Basha disappointed me? This is a rhetorical question.
