In addition to the fire danger period during the summer, firefighters also face serious difficulties in road traffic within the city every day.
Wrong parking, blocking roads by illegal objects, iron bars and other obstacles are often encountered on the streets and alleys of Shkodra, significantly jeopardizing the timely intervention of the fire brigade.
The Director of the Shkodra Fire Department, Agim Ponari, in a statement to the media, has spoken about the daily difficulties that firefighters face in cases of emergency.

"We always encounter difficulties getting to the scene. This comes as a road obstacle and incorrect parking. Citizens leave space for a car but do not consider our vehicles, which are of a different size. They place concrete elements and various other things. The fact that businesses have railings on the street, all of this makes their work difficult in cases of fire," says Ponari.


The Municipality of Shkodra, contacted, informs that it has set up a working group to identify all problematic points in the five regions of the city, where over 35 critical points have been calculated that hinder the intervention of firefighters in the event of a fire. According to Director Ponari, it is necessary that these points be included in the action of freeing public spaces, based on the joint plan approved by the Municipality and the fire department.

" It is very necessary to intervene at least where there is the possibility of movement. They must be removed because they endanger the property and lives of citizens. In cases of fire when a vehicle cannot pass to provide access, life and property are at risk."
