Investment scandal in Vlora/ Denaj warns Meta: Tomorrow I will answer with facts

The President of the Republic Ilir Meta gave tonight a statement to the media, where he again admitted the scandal and tried to justify the blocking of investments for the road project ?Vlora-Orikum?.

The Head of State said that the termination of the agreement for the financing of this road, has been requested by the Albanian government to the Saudi Development Fund, while for transparency he claims that he has sent 4 letters to Edi Rama as Foreign Minister.

Regarding the accusations of the president reacted the Minister of Finance, Anila Denaj, warning that tomorrow she will respond with facts to the president.

?I am very surprised by the appearance of Ilir Meta from the podium of the President of the Republic, where he confused the Constitution, institutions and concepts of legality, agreement, negotiation, creating a completely inappropriate cacophony for the head of a state.

Tomorrow I will respond with stubborn facts to Mr. President, even with his own firm in similar cases, while today I am just explaining this:The issue is very simple. The government hasn?t had anything to negotiate, because its not about a new loan, but about a previously negotiated loan.

Here the President is wrong! The Albanian Development Fund has not negotiated the terms of the loan, as here the president is wrong again. But has simply exchanged with its counterpart to reallocate from one object to another object, even within the same geographical area in this case, a portion of the loan.

The Saudi side had nothing else to say when it gave its consent, and here to the President is wrong. Reallocation of funds within the signed financial agreements, have been done in the past, are done everywhere, and don?t constitute any exception to the rule.

The President is wrong from the beginning to the end, even though we have explained to him quite clearly and simply with documents the logic of this practice. If Meta does not really understand this issue, or deliberately makes this procrastination of a project important for Vlora, I do not want to say this. But tomorrow I will say more?- said Denaj./ CNA.al
