According to official data, Albania welcomed around 11.7 million foreign visitors in 2024, a 15% increase compared to the previous year. By October 2025, tourist flows had increased by another 6.7%, almost double the 2019 level, in a country with less than 3 million inhabitants.

Although numbers are growing, Albania remains a relatively unexplored destination for North American travelers, as most current visitors are from the region. The Albanian Riviera, especially the segment between Vlora and Saranda, is experiencing a tourist boom, while cities like Berat and Gjirokastra, part of the UNESCO World Heritage, continue to attract visitors for their cultural and architectural heritage.
