OFFICIAL/ Disappointed in the World Cup, the coach resigns

Steve Clarke has resigned as Scotland manager following their World Cup exit.

The Scots kept their hopes of qualifying alive until the end of the group stage, but the necessary results were not achieved. Croatia's victory over Ghana was decisive, which finally ended Scotland's chance of advancing from third place.

Shortly after the elimination was confirmed, Clarke announced his departure after seven years in charge of the national team. He thanked the Scottish Football Association for their trust and wished his successor well. Clarke took charge of the team in 2019 and led Scotland to two consecutive European Championship qualifiers.

One of his most important achievements was qualifying for the World Cup, Scotland's first participation in a World Cup in 28 years.
