Brazil files official complaint, demands immediate expulsion

The Brazilian Football Confederation has filed an official complaint with FIFA to contest the refereeing in the group stage match against Scotland, which the Brazilians won 3-0.

Federation leaders have expressed dissatisfaction with the cancellation of a goal by Vinicius Junior in the 21st minute, a decision that came after the VAR system intervened for a suspected foul on defender Jack Hendry.

Carlo Ancelotti's team argues that the contact was minimal and did not constitute a clear error to overturn the initial decision of referee Cesar Ramos.

Through a letter addressed to FIFA president Gianni Infantino, CBF president Samir Xaud has requested that the Mexican referee be excluded from the opportunity to referee Brazil's matches in this World Cup.

In the document published by Estadao, the federation also recalls a precedent from 2018, where Ramos, according to them, damaged Brazil in the match against Switzerland. The CBF also stressed that even the Scottish players did not expect that goal to be disallowed, based on their immediate reactions on the pitch.
