Disappointment for Briken Caljen in the European, the Albanian champion fails in the breakaway style

Briken Calja has failed to secure a medal or even a ranking position at the European Weightlifting Championships taking place in Yerevan, Armenia, as far as the breakaway style that has usually been his strong point is concerned.

The Albanian weightlifter had left injuries behind and was traveling to this event with the desire to secure other medals and important points for participation in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. But things on the pedana did not write as he hoped.

Calja climbed the platform first placing the weight of 151 kilograms, but failed in the first attempt. He repeated the same weight a few minutes later, but failed that attempt as well.

The third attempt was with the weight of 152 kilograms, trying to immediately enter the medal zone. But the Albanian weightlifter failed to hold up the barbell again and thus closed this discipline without a ranking position.
