Mykhailo Mudryk is in big trouble.

The Ukrainian Chelsea player has tested positive in a routine anti-doping test. The London club have confirmed through an official statement that the English Football Association (FA) has contacted the player due to a suspicious finding in the tests carried out after a recent match.

"Chelsea Football Club can confirm that the Football Association has recently contacted our player Mykhailo Mudryk regarding an adverse finding in a routine urine test," the club's statement read.

Chelsea and Mudryk have shown their willingness to cooperate with the relevant authorities, emphasizing their full support for the anti-doping program of the English Football Association. In the official statement, the club has assured that all its players, including Mudryk, undergo regular tests and that this case will be investigated with maximum seriousness.

For his part, Mudryk has categorically denied knowingly using any banned substance. The player has informed Chelsea management that he has not intentionally consumed any product that contradicts sports regulations.

“Both the Club and Mykhailo fully support the FA's testing programme. Mykhailo has confirmed that he has never knowingly used any banned substance. Both Mykhailo and the club will now work with the relevant authorities to determine what caused the adverse finding," the London club's statement concluded.

Investigations will continue to determine whether this finding is the result of a misunderstanding or a more serious breach of regulations.

Chelsea have made it clear they will not comment further on the matter until the investigation is complete. Meanwhile, Mudryk faces a difficult period as he awaits a final decision that could seriously affect his career.
