Delicate transfers, Dortmund returns to victory

Borussia Dortmund secured an important 2-1 away win over Koln, ending their series of negative results.

Serhou Guirassy gave the visitors the lead in the first half, taking advantage of a lack of confidence in the home defence after a corner kick.

The challenges for Cologne increased when defender Simpson-Pusey was sent off after a VAR intervention before half-time.

In the second half, Maximilian Beier doubled the lead after an assist from Julian Brandt.

Although Kaminski scored for the home team late in the game, Dortmund managed to hold onto the lead until the final whistle.

This result keeps Dortmund in second place, six points ahead of chasing Hoffenheim.

Cologne remains in a difficult position, just two points away from the play-off zone for survival.

This was Dortmund's fourth consecutive victory in direct confrontations with Cologne.
