Controversy erupts, Chelsea makes questionable move in transfer market

Chelsea have caused controversy in England after the transfer of 19-year-old defender Ishe Samuels-Smith. The player was sold on July 31 to Strasbourg, a club that has the same owners as Chelsea, for 7.5 million euros.

However, his adventure in France was short-lived, as on September 2 he returned from Chelsea and was immediately loaned to Swansea for a season. The operation has raised doubts about the way the co-ownership between the two clubs is being used.

The criticism is linked to the possibility that Chelsea could gain increased control over the transfer market through Strasbourg. Under FIFA rules, a player can register with three clubs in a season, but can only play official matches for two of them.
