Another injury in the National Team, Silvinjo makes a change to the roster

The Albanian national team continued preparations for the September matches on the second day at the training camp in Malaga, Spain.

The Albanian Football Association's Communications Department announces that coach Silvinjo has decided to invite U-21 National Team goalkeeper Simon Simoni to the team, as Elhan Kastrati will not be available due to injury.

Kastrati, who has a knee injury, has been reported to the training camp, where he has undergone tests and visits from the medical staff, who have concluded that the footballer may not be ready for the matches with Gibraltar and Latvia and that he needs medical treatment.

Simoni will arrive at the red and black camp in the coming hours and will be available to coach Silvinjo for the friendly against Gibraltar and the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Latvia in Tirana.

As for the group, Enis Çokaj and Cristian Shpendi arrived during the day, and have been training regularly with the team. The training session lasted a little over an hour and the entire group is in good shape.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) at 17:00 there will be an official conference with coach Silvinjo, while at 18:00 the official training session will take place.

Albania will play a friendly away match against Gibraltar on September 4, with the match starting at 18:00, while on September 9, the national team will host Latvia in the qualifying match that will take place at the "Air Albania" stadium and starts at 20:45.
