Sergio Ramos takes ownership of Spanish club

Sergio Ramos is close to taking control of Sevilla, after the group of investors he leads reached an agreement to buy a majority stake in the Spanish club.

Negotiations have been underway for the past few months and the agreement is expected to be finalized after the signing of the contracts and approval by the Supreme Sports Court.

Ramos' group and the Five Eleven Capital fund signed a preliminary agreement to buy the club in January. The agreement also includes a financial injection of 80 to 100 million euros to improve Sevilla's financial situation and the salary cap for next season.

The full purchase operation is estimated to reach around 450 million euros. It is not excluded that Sergio Ramos will also take over the position of club president, removing the Del Nido family from management after more than two decades.

Sevilla have endured difficult years both financially and in sporting terms, with fans often protesting against the current management. Ramos' return, this time as an investor and potential director, could usher in a new phase for the Andalusian club.
