Homecoming, Barcelona will play at "Cam Nou" against Bilbao

Barcelona will return to their historic stadium, the Camp Nou, this weekend after a hiatus of more than two and a half years. Since 2023, the Catalan team has been forced to play its matches at the Olympic stadium, as a result of the reconstruction and remodeling process of the Camp Nou.

Several previously scheduled dates for the return were not met. Initially, Barcelona had hoped to open the stadium for the Joan Gamper Trophy, and then for the league match against Valencia, but technical and procedural obstacles delayed the reopening. The club has now received all the necessary permits and has confirmed that the match of the 13th week of the league, against Athletic Bilbao, will take place on November 22 at the Camp Nou.

The permit granted authorizes the partial opening of the stadium, as work is still ongoing in some sectors. According to technical assessments, the safe capacity for the public at this stage is 45,401 spectators. This is the maximum number that can be accommodated in areas that are considered fully completed and certified for use.

The club intends for the match against Bilbao to serve as a test for the gradual reopening of the facility and for other challenges. Among the objectives is the development of the Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt, scheduled for December 9.
