Oliver Kahn admits: We thought about buying CR7

The news linking Cristiano Ronaldo's name to Bayern Munich was not untrue. The German champions have discussed the possibility of transferring the Portuguese striker from Manchester United this summer and this was confirmed by the head of the board Oliver Kahn himself.

The former goalkeeper of the Bavarians also explained why they later decided against such an operation. "We discussed this issue, otherwise we wouldn't be doing our job well," said Kahn during an interview with "Sport Bild".

"I personally consider Cristiano Ronaldo one of the best footballers on the planet. But we came to the conclusion that despite the evaluation for Christiano, he would not have adapted to our philosophy in the current situation."
