Mitaj receives bad news, urgently leaves Al Ittihad

Albanian national team defender Mario Mitaj has been forced to temporarily leave Saudi Arabia and the Al-Ittihad team to return to Albania. The reason for this was the death of his grandmother.

The Saudi club confirmed the news, expressing condolences to the 22-year-old and his family for the loss. Mitaj asked for permission from the management immediately after the match against Al-Gharafa, a request which was accepted by coach Sergio Conceiçao.

This absence comes at a delicate moment for the team, as Al-Ittihad will play without the Albanian defender in the big derby against Al-Hilal on February 21.

Mitaj was in very good form in the Saudi championship, successfully adapting to new positions on the field.
