Qualification with a twist, Brazil makes drama against Japan

Brazil secured a dramatic qualification to the last 16 of the World Cup after defeating Japan 2-1 thanks to a goal in the final seconds of extra time.

The match presented two different scenarios. The first half was dominated by the Asians, who took the lead in the 29th minute with a superb goal by Kaishu Sano.

However, in the second half, Carlo Ancelotti's men reacted like champions, initially equalizing through veteran Casemiro (56').

 As the match headed into extra time, Gabriel Martinelli (95') made the most of an assist from Bruno Guimaraes to score the winning goal.

In the round of 16, Brazil will face the winner of the match between Ivory Coast and Norway.
