The well-known German club risks bankruptcy, the solution can come from the fans

The well-known German club, Schalke 04 is facing one of the most difficult moments in its history. A debt of 168 million euros risks bringing bankruptcy to the club, which has made history in the Bundesliga.

Shalke wants to find salvation in the fans and has a special request for them. The club has put up shares in the stadium for sale, which it wants fans to buy, to pay off the debt.

The leaders of Schalke want to solve all the problems and debts accumulated with the sale of the stadium and with an official statement they have announced that they will sell the shares of the stadium. First, a new association will be created for this purpose and a price will be set for each share.

This was confirmed by the president of Schalke, Matias Tilman, who explained that the newly formed association will thus buy the shares of the stadium, which will continue to be fully managed by the club.

The project in question will start in a month, when the meeting of the club's assembly is scheduled. Schalke was relegated from the Bundesliga in the 2020/2021 season, then managed to return to the elite ranks, but a direct relegation followed again and this team has been playing in the Bundesliga 2 for two seasons.

This season, Schalke will have to fight for survival in the second tier of the competition, as the team has won just eight points from as many games and currently sits 13th in the table.

Schalke last won the trophy in 2011, when they took the German Cup. Schalke were German champions five times, but the last time the club won the title was in 1958.
