The Albanian Football Federation has clarified the public opinion regarding the news that is circulating about the tragic death of Egnatia's attacker, Raphael Dwamena, who suffered a cardiac arrest on the field of play, but who later died in the hospital.

In the reaction of the ALF, it is emphasized that Dwamena was given first aid, while they emphasize that the ambulance had all the necessary equipment available, including a defibrillator.

According to the federation, this reaction comes by appealing to "some media, certain individuals and public opinion not to make irresponsible and unfounded reports about this serious event to exploit this tragedy".

COMMUNICATION:

The Albanian Football Federation wants to clarify public opinion regarding the serious incident that happened in Rrogozhinë during the Egnatia-Partizani match, where the footballer Raphael Dwamena fell unconscious on the playing field and then died.

In the match played at the Rrogozhina stadium, the rules of the competition were strictly respected. An ambulance equipped with a defibrillator and all the necessary medical equipment, as well as two doctors, was on standby. The footballer was immediately given first aid on the field and was urgently sent to the hospital, where all medical protocols were followed.

It is enough to bring to attention a few recent cases to prove that the regulation is strictly applied from the medical point of view in every case. In the match two weeks ago, Skënderbeu-Egnatia, the medical staff and the ambulance intervened to help a fan who had health problems, giving him first aid and then transporting him to the hospital. The match was stopped for 15 minutes and only after the ambulance returned to the stadium, the delegate agreed to restart the game.

In the Tirana-Laçi match of the U17 age championship on 10.11.2023, the game was stopped in the 25th minute for 30 minutes after a Tirana player was injured in the head. The intervention of the ambulance was needed to transport him to the hospital and only after the return of the ambulance and the medical staff did the game continue.

In the Second Category, the Adriatiku-KKS Albanët match on 28.10.2023 did not take place, as the KKS Albanët team did not have a doctor.

In the First Category, the November 6 match between Tomorri and Burrell was interrupted after a Burrell player was sent to the hospital after a head injury, and then resumed with the return of the medical staff and the ambulance.

The AFL calls on some media, some certain individuals and the public opinion on this serious event not to make irresponsible and unfounded reports to exploit this tragedy.
