Mark van Bommel, 46, is Antwerp's coach and a well-known figure in the football world. His spells at PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, ??Bayern and Milan were of quality, especially as the former midfielder was one to never turn his back on a fight. This time he is in the news, as he is the victim of one of the strangest crimes involving royal sports personalities. Speaking only Arabic, the youngster had several voice recordings on his mobile phone to tell the coach that he would kill him and his family if he did not sign him for Antwerp, warning that he was 17 years old.

"Listen Mark, your family's life depends on it. Let me be a professional football player. Don't go to the police, we'll kill you and your family. We know where you live. Either make me a contract or I'll kill you your family!", was one of the messages.

The criminal ended up being detained by the police, DNA analysis showed that he was after all 25 years old and will now serve 5 years in prison. "This case may seem like something that would never work and even stupid, but it's really not like that. He had a well-constructed plan and could have gone further," revealed the coach's lawyer, who in the meantime went to live with his family in a hotel, as he was still in shock about what had happened.

"Van Bommel had never experienced such a situation, where the invasion of private life was extraordinary. In fact, he no longer lives in his apartment because he was so affected. He lives in the hotel and therefore we are asking for compensation of 5 thousand euros for the moral damage", concluded the lawyer of the Dutchman.
