A goal by Anrea Meroni in the 95th minute broke everything. After 38 years, Brescia fell to Serie C (the third category of Italian football and Cosenza were saved). As the Calabrian fans celebrated in the Curva Sud, Nord del Brescia invaded the pitch holding fireworks and that's all it took for the chaos to begin.

The local police rushed to the pitch and held back the Brescia Ultras, but the game was stopped and the players went to the dressing room tunnel. 28 minutes later, when fireworks and smoke bombs fell from outside the stadium towards the "fans" stands, the referee Davide Massa stopped the game for good: 1-1 and Brescia ended in Serie C hell.

A security guard was injured, two players fought, the tension was incredible... but the worst continued outside the stadium: Matthieu Huard's car, the Brescia defender, was on fire. And chants against Massimo Cellino (Brescia's much-criticized owner for years) spread through the stands and surrounding areas. Clashes between the police and the Brescia Ultras took place in bars and on the streets near the pitch.

Because there were people who stayed inside, for safety, and others who came out. Meanwhile, the club's employees, footballers and players' families were still locked in the historic Mario Rigamonti. A field in which Baggio, Guardiola or Pirlo have played and now has to face the worst face of football.
